general venue questions

Can we bring our own decor?

Absolutely! As long as it's within our approved decor we encourage you to make your day and your decor unique to you.

What is your max capacity?

We can accommodate up to 192 guests.

How long will we have access to the venue?

Your booking provides you access to the venue for over 12 hours - 9am to 12am. Any early or late add-ons are above this time.

What does set-up include?

Set-up includes of all Sparrow Lane provided decor and furniture. Any additional items are your responsibility to set-up on the morning of! 

What does the venue rental include?

Please see our Venue Details page for a list of all of the amenities provided with the venue. 

Do you allow sparklers or candles?

Candlers are permitted in glass containers only. Glass must be higher than any flame produced by the candle. Candle must remain in place after being lit. Sparklers allowed but please approve with SL prior to event.

Will there be other weddings or tours on the same day?

Nope! The space is exclusively yours for the day.

Can I book my rehearsal and wedding on back to back days?

We host weddings every day of the week. So for couples who choose a Saturday date the rehearsal typically would be the Wednesday  or Thursday before. 

What is in the Luxury Bridal Suite?

Our Bridal Suite is complete with everything you need to be pampered on your day. A private washroom so you don't have to risk any sneak peeks, a full vanity with multiple plug-ins, lounge area for you to put your feet up and enjoy time with your loved ones, and a wet bar to keep drinks cold and store food.

Are Pets Allowed?

We understand your pets are extensions of our families - please reach out to us to let us know if you would like to have any with you on your day.

Can I book just my ceremony or just my reception not both?

Our venue is only available to book for the day. If you choose to have your ceremony elsewhere, you will have access to the venue for the entire day for your reception set-up.

Do you host winter weddings?

Yes! Complete with heat and AC, our space is comfortable and ready for celebrations any time of year.

How do you accept payment?

We are able to accept any form of payment most convenient for our couples. 

How do I secure a date?

A signed contract and 1/3 of the total amount down is required to secure your dream wedding date. We are unable to hold dates unless both are completed.

Do I need to schedule a tour or can we just stop by?

We ask that you please book a private tour so we can properly show you around the property and venue facilities. As we host weddings every day of the week we want to be respectful of our couples currently using the venue and have specific time allotted for venue tours.

What deposit is required to book?

1/3 of the total booking fee is required at the time of booking.

How do I hold a date?

Unfortunately due to the high volume of inquiries we are unable to hold dates. Please check our availability calendar here and get in touch to secure your date! 

Planning Questions

When is your next open house?

We will host open houses frequently and will notify you when these dates are set! This is a perfect opportunity to plan decor and gather inspiration from our displays.

Can we have an outdoor ceremony?

Of course! We have a large, stunning outdoor space that comfortably seats up to 200 guests. Gorgeous stone and mature trees set the scene for this outdoor ceremony space. 

Can we have our engagement shoot here?

Part of your venue booking includes a complimentary 1 hr engagement session on the property. Must be coordinated with SL with a minimum 30 days notice. Photography not included.

What furniture is included in our rental?

You will receive all of the furniture you need for the day of your event. For more details please visit our venue page! 

Can we have an indoor ceremony?

Definitely. Whether its your preference to be indoors or the weather goes sideways, we have multiple beautiful indoor options.

Are there overnight accommodations?

We do not provide overnight accommodations. However we have a hotel and shuttle partner to ensure the safety of you and your guests.

Is there on-site parking?

Yes, we have large private on-site parking so there is no need to use alternate parking. 

Do you provide a day of coordinator?

Yes! We are pleased to share that going forward we now offer day of coordination as well as planning in design through our in-house services. We are dedicated to ensuring your day goes as smoothly as possible and will do everything we can to help.  Please contact us if you are interested in utilizing our in-house services.

Do we need insurance?

Yes, a minimum two million dollar Event Liability Insurance Policy is required. This is standard practice: requiring us to be the first payee. Our legal business name is Sparrow Lane Events. 

What kind of table do you have?

We have 8 foot long by 34" wide wooden tables. They can seat up to 10! 

Do we need to cover them?

Totally your choice! We do not require them to be covered and built them to look amazing either way. 

Do we have to choose vendors from your preferred list?

With the exception of the exclusive alcohol and bartending service providers, your favourite outside wedding vendors are welcome here! We are happy to provide our couples with our extensive preferred vendor list upon booking and customized vendor recommendations upon to make wedding planning a breeze. 

CATERING & BAR QUESTIONS

Do you have exclusive caterers?

We do not, while we can provide recommendations we want you to be able to select what feels the most 'you' for your special day. 

Do you allow alcohol and can we bring our own?

Sparrow Lane is proud to work exclusively with Socials Events to provide our clients with unmatched customer service for all alcoholic beverage needs. Whether you are interested in a budget-friendly cash bar, top-shelf bar or something in between, Socials Events will gladly customize a package that fits your needs. Please inquire for sample menus and pricing.

Do we need a liquor license?

Sparrow Lane holds an AGLC liquor license and therefore couples are not required to purchase their own. One less thing for you to worry about!

Do you charge corkage?

Our in-house bar service is second to none. From limes, to ice, and delicious drinks, we have everything covered for your event to go off seamlessly. Please reach out to discuss our in-house bar.

What is included with the bar?

Our space wouldn't be complete without a show-stopping bar including everything you need to provide an outstanding experience for you and your guests. Taps, water, fridges, and ice are all provided with the bar. 

Do you provide chafing dishes or any other catering supplies?

We do not supply any catering equipment. However we do provide optional flatware and beautiful plates. See photos of these items here

What is included with the kitchen?

Plenty of counter space, a large commercial fridge, warming oven, ice machine, and commercial dishwasher. Plug-ins for appliances or warmers. Private access for your caterers and vendors for ease of use.
